#5 Use your platform to Shout Volunteering

This ask is aimed at those who have a platform/audience to adopt #ShoutVolunteering as part of their work. How you want to incorporate this is up to you, but even just showing you are taking part in this initiative will help encourage others. This ask is aimed at:

  • Businesses - both as a business and/or encouraging employees to #ShoutVolunteering

  • Celebrities

  • Influencers

  • Content creators

  • Mayors and High Sheriffs - For example, Pippa Kirkbride (High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire 2025-26) adopted volunteering as a main theme of her shrieval year and was #ShoutingVolunteering including developing a project telling the stories and impact volunteering has on volunteers called Shout Volunteering. In addition to celebrating and recognising the work of volunteers she organised events and workshops to help develop volunteering locally and to Shout Volunteering!
