#2 Engage on social media

Volunteering does not have the marketing budgets of global companies so to help raise its profile the #shoutvolunteering ask to you is to make a deliberate, increased effort to engage with volunteering related posts on social media.

Engaging with a volunteering post tells social media algorithms that the post is interesting and so will place it higher on the feeds of others, i.e. it will get seen by more people. Therefore, please could you do any or all of the below:

• like (or similar) a volunteering related post

• add a comment to the post - whether it is something short like ‘great post’ or a longer comment it all helps increase the number of people who will see the post. Add the hashtag #ShoutVolunteering helps show your comment is also part of this movement to raise the profile of volunteering and will encourage others to do this same (see ask #4).

• repost/share the content so that people you are connected to will see it
